FAQ!
Q. What do we call the months, seasons etc.?
A. The Julius calendar has been chosen for this. List is here.
Sometime ago, a decision to change and improve upon the existing naming system was made. Therefore, many prefer to use “month of (…)”, still.
If you feel like you will have trouble with this, you are free to use the alternatives, such as “first month of spring” or “second month of winter”, instead.
Q. What are the Church Knights?
A. Knights in service of the Saint Elimine Church. If you want to creat a character from there? Read the info here.
Q. What about support conversations, character recruitment and promotions?
A. These are for OOC funtiems. Characters’ personalities, relationships and abilities may change due to all of the interaction with others. Anything and everything is possible, so it would be best if we refrained from writing support conversations.
The idea is that, at first, the lord will meet and convince other people to join her. One log thread per character. Those previously recruited will be able to try to convince any possible newcomers.
Promoting happens in threads started by the NPC account.
You receive stats upgrades which are useful for future battles. Though being promoted basically means that you receive more money and a higher rank, which means more influence.
Q. Who are the NPCs and who plays them?
A. People played by people. The main NPC account is this one. They are shopkeepers, blacksmiths, fortunetellers and oracles. They exist for the purpose of special events and forced character development (rare, albeit necessary at times).
Q. What about posting order?
A. When replying to an entry, please pay attention in which the comments are being posted.
Let’s say that Character A makes a post. B replies and he and A talk for a while. C replies to A's post and then they talk. However, C might have recently burned himself and he tells A this, but A cannot tell B that. Because the conversation between A and C happens only after A and B have ended theirs.
Confusing though this may be; this was the simplest way I could put it.
Q. How does money work?
A. According to the games a door key costs 50 g. An iron lance is 360 g. So a meal at an inn would cost a simple farmer around 100 g. This isn't expensive, but it could be cheaper. He can still afford it. If you are unsure about what this means, feel free to ask.
Q. How do we use the character journals?
A. Since this is a community-based roleplay, no actual journal entries need to be posted. You can, of course, use your journal to post your character's background information, keep track of ongoing events and so on. Actions can be italicized, put inside brackets, asterisks or added as third person descriptions. It is up to you. Now, I realize that this may seem rather silly and weird. But it is not at all difficult to get used to. Besides, others may find it easier to write in one way rather the other.
